I'm wondering about all this bargain-basement crap that he's alway's touting as "the way to go". 99% of the people in this forum know quality from junk, that goes without saying. But I wonder if anyone else is taking to heart the HP .22 "Sniper Pistol" or the chopped "Star BM Magnum" or the alway's beloved 10" or 11.5" or some damn thing or another, with a can. He post's so much garbage, I wonder if someone, somewhere is taking him seriously. GK's dream Battery:

Hope someone DOES take him seriously! They would have to be of the same moral presuasion and thus I would prefer they DIE early. They can stumble around in the dark, hurt, desease, hungey, and LOST. Sounds like the kind of enemy we all would perfer to meet.

As Jeff Cooper said, 'it's a good weapon for your opponent to have'! And stupekids weapons and tactics just leave him wide open.
There are people on other forums who have at least verbally adopted GK's battery and plan of survival as the ideal way. Don't think that they have been able to accumulate anything much in the way of junk guns and crappy equipment due to inadequate financing. Small allowance, low pay as a dog poop picker-upper, etc.

I think that some of the "followers" may have at least seen a glimmer of how to make a rational choice.

I know we hammer GK, but we don't ram one specific choice down everyone's throat.

We do however point out the silliness of his choices.

I've seen a couple of comments from people that used to be 100% in his camp that lead me to beleive they are starting to think about what their requirements are, instead of just blindly following their "guru".

there's hope for the world after all.

Good sign. Recognizing the false prophet is a step toward truth and enlightenment.

Wait a minute, Rika, these pistols are in my battery, you mean their not good? The six inch barreled Iver Johnson I actually thought was a Smith & Wesson, It was so rusted over that it was impossible to identify. I got it free, and spent about $70.00 and many hours trying to clean it up. Imagine my reaction when I got enough rust off to see the Iver Johnson Firearms Co. on the top rib.

No way, Sir. I wasn't dissin' those revos. Fine stuff, suh!

Actually I have an old out-of-time Iver Johnson in my safe. The other one is a 38spl made in Spain in the 1920's. It is interesting because the cylinder latch is identical to the modern Dan Wessons.

Tie a meat scrap to one of them, toss it to the bad guy and tell the Dobes to fetch. :D

u r fos. I''ve never advocated the HP22

as being anything but a spare. The Star is the optimal choice, but nobody's going to spend the $3000 that a suitably modified one would cost. A know men who've killed as many men as you've even THOUGHT about ARGUING with, who think VERY highly of the CAR-15, and a good can on it makes it much more effective. The fact that ignoramuses think otherwise does't change anything. It shows their ignorance, that's all.
$3000, what you do with a Star to make it good with that much money is throw it it the trash can and go buy something made by Wilson, Ed Brown or Les Baer. :D
Spending 3K on a Star is a lot like trying to make a dragster out of a AMC Gremlin. It can be done, but why, when other, better platforms are readily available. IIRC You advocated dropping "Canned HP-22's" to the "Resistance", who ever they are? and that would make them a front carry pistol. I wouldn't try to modify a Star too much, not a bad pistol wothin the limitations of design.

READ YOUR POST! The Star is optimal, after investing $3,000 into it. Three grand into a Spanish 9MM? Did you hit fall and hit your head? I wouldn't invest $3,000 in a Solid Gold Les Bauer, let alone a Star. "A know men who have killed...." check Battalion History, Charlie Company, 2nd Batallion, 7th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division, 1970, I' ve seen more GOOD men killed than your little fantasy's,the good men were on both sides. Garry Owen!

And the Star is made in 9mm. It is stressed for 9mm (and not NATO 9mm). The .357 Sig, or TSW, or whatever, is way higher in pressure than the Star was ment for.

You don't know anything about smithing other than what you read in books.
Look, I'm TIRED of educating your LAME asses. The Star is POCKETABLE, the 1911 is not. There are NO other SA pocket pistols of any power level. THAT is why I chose the Star, and why I chopped it. It offers 600 ft lbs per shot, in a POCKETABLE, controlable SA auto. So your sorry ass aint worth spending $500 on, that's about what I thought.
If one chooses a pocket auto that handles ENOUGH like a lw Commander does, one doesn't HAVE to practice a lot with the pocket pc at all, particularly if one has a .22 pocket pc to practice with, and also practices with the Commander. I didn't choose the Star for a bunch of lames to use. I chose it for ME. You don't COUNT. Get off of your arrogant horses.

I'd like to see YOU produce the ft lbs on target, with ANY pocket pistol, that a top hand can produce with the 356 Star, in 1 second, first shot to last. Best you could do would be 1200 ft lbs, on 10" at 10ft. The Star can lay on at least 3600 ft lbs in that same time frame, and your 357 snub is NOT concealed worth a damn in the front pocket. It weighs 26 ozs, loaded with 5 lousy rds, gets .50 second splits, and delivers at best 400 ft lbs per shot, won't reliably expand a jhp very much, so 100 or so ft lbs is wasted on overpenetration, out of the 400 ft lbs.
the 356 load, at pocket pistol ranges, is no harder to control than is a 9mm. 6 hits per second is still quite feasible to attain, 55 grs at 2200 fps recoils like 115 grs at 1100 fps. There's no discernable diff on the 10" A zone at 5 yds, even, as far as hits in the same time frame. The fact that you are ignorant about such things doesn't change them. It just makes u ignorant, that's all.

I like your analogy, Half elf. However, if GK wants to spend all his time on silly impractical projects then more power to him. His cobbled up Star will just fail him at a critical time and then he will get his reward. Its fun to argue with him but the effort is completely useless because he will never listen; his mind is totally inflexible.

U not answered HOW you address the FACT the STAR is a 9mm, and is not STRESSED for .357 Sig or other rounds. U not answered HOW you would check the RELIABILITY (which takes many hundreds of rounds of shooting) of a pos Star that will not take the pressure and stress of the larger cartridges.

U 'think' people will be stupid enough to pour $3000 dollars into a pos that will break after a few rounds.

The Star BM is NOT proofed or recommended for NATO pressure loads, and the .357 Sig and TSW ARE at or ABOVE NATO pressure!
