It's much easier for you to hit that chopper (from cover) than it is for them to hit you (behind cover) You can hear/see that chopper from a long ways off, so cover IS going to be feasible for you.

I've had helicopters hovering over me more than once; as recently as last Thursday for that matter. Was pulling security video at the scene of a homicide for the police. Never occurred to me to shoot at the chopper; I was concentrating on not stepping in the blood of a guy who I'd known for 20+ years.

Helicopters can generally use smoke or flares to mark a target, and certainly don't need to hover (except in movies) in order to do so..

Not a close friend or anything, just a guy I've known for a long time. He was a customer of ours, we were a customer of his; plus the inevitable small-town encountering each other. Never even been to his home, so again not like he was a real 'friend' or anything. Goes with the job to some degree - preventing bad things and cleaning up after bad things is just the nature of it.

But he didn't deserve to be gunned down by a smiling lunatic in his place of business; and I just had walk around pools of his and his wife's blood (she lived) and watch it all repeatedly in high-def while gathering evidence as a favor for the police. Some juries, I would just love to be on...
