including 1 each .22rifle and .22 pistol pistol being canned and cached. The other 2 rifles need to be CAR's, of course, with appropriate "uppers', like .30 ak for knocking holes in water-towers and pipelines, 50 BMG for blowing up big rockets on the launchpad. A 20" AR 223 upper, with can, can easily handle any long range sniping that NEEDS doing (ie, 600 yds) if it's loaded right. A 6.8 upper will give you serious long range performance on big game, too.

A locked breech 380 and M21 serve the pocket gun needs, or in extremis, a chopped 356 Star will do, and the M21 also serves the need for a canned 22 pistol, post shtf.

An alloy 1911 serves the practice, competition, belt gun ccw, and hunting "needs", with the hunting being nearly all just fun., of course. after you've PROVEN yourself to be world class wih a pistol, the occasional reaffirmation at a match is sufficient. With the ablility to fire .22, 9mm, and .45 all from the same frame, any sort of realistic handgun "need", and realistically, all the handgun 'sport' needs can be handled. The 1911 can even be a muzzleloader, carbine, or 308 handgun, if you really want esoteric abilities. :)

Multiple rifles and pistols lets you arm the wife and/or kids and/or friends, covers you in case of loss or damage, too. Caching "spares" (intelligently) lets you GET more stuff, if need be. For instance, a cached, canned .22 can readily get you an AR, or some other rifle which then gets you an AR. Then you just dig up the cached upper, can, etc, for the AR, and you are back in biz.
