Anyone else notice, hestarted talking about the .30-30, comparing it to the SKS (the 7.62x39mm is real close, but not quite as powerful as the .30-30, so his assretion is, again, incorrect), and then uses his incorrect conslusion to state that the 7.62x39mm is more powerful than the .45-70?
Now, really, the .45-70 has killed everything that walks, in its least powerful, blackpowder, loading. Modern loads are much more powerful. The 7.62x39mm, .30-30., .223, even .308 can't tough the .45-70 for delivered hitting power (FPE isn't everything, caliber and momentum also factor in, HEAVILY) or penetration. The .45-70 can penetrate a Cape Buffalo end to end. Vince Lupo proved this on his Safari (see the Garrett web site). .45-70 bullet entering the front shoulder and exiting after penetrating throught he corss-side hip. They never found the bullet. None of CowardKid's vunderbullets will even come close. His fantasy loads wouldn't even make it through the front shoulder.
