Why bother with a $1500+ revolver that can't do half as much as the $500 alloy 1911 (used, fully loaded Spld)and the $150 used, M21 and $250 worth of smithing done to it? There's OTHER uses for the Commander and the M21, there's NONE for the monster revolver. So all it is, is an expensive toy. The M21 is a servicable pocket pistol for defense, and, silenced, it's a superb "special mission" pc, or shtf pc. The commander is a fine ccw gun, hunting gun, practice gun, and a good hand can use his strong hand only, and a lw Commander, and beat D class punks like garnad, at any match,any range, when garnad uses a race gun(and both hands) there's just THAT much diff in skill levels.

Glock in .357 Sig will do just the same deed as any 90 gr pos bullet you could make. 100 percent stops just can't be outdone. I see no reason to ask for more and risk it not working. The .357 Sig is PROVEN, your 90 gr pos is not.

You know when it comes to that S&W .500 I actually agree with you. Hell, the damn round looks like something designed for buffalo. The gun is odd feeling in the hand, at least the long barreled version. But it may have secondary use, as a club if you need to finish off whatever you just shot.

I must admit, I do like my Combat commander a lot, just like I like my S&W M66. Which by the way I'm allowed to practice with! What a WANNABE! If you wanna use a $20.00 pimps gun for a .22, feel free. Some of us would rather purchase quality. So you choke under pressure do yo! What a WANNABE!

Actually, the Beretta 21A's a pretty much top-notch gun, for a small, pocket .22 auto. I've had one since the 80's and it's still in great shape. I don't use it much anymore as I've switched to a KelTec .32 for pocket carry, but it's definitely a high-quality gun.

I've had pocket autos from Beretta, Grendel, KelTec, Phoenix, and Jennings; the Beretta is unquestionably the highest-quality of the group.

Paid $179 or so, iirc, NIB. Haven't had the "$250" in smithing done to it; just one extra magazine.

I've owned seveal small berettas. They have a thin tin disconnector right under the plastic grip, a hair pin for a recoil spring, all small linkages. Good workmanship, but the design is not made for long term use nor harsh conditions.

The Kel-Tek, while a real good hide out, is still in that class. It would take quite a bit of ammo to become a real sharp shot with it (but the .380 is so far ahead of the .22 from such a short barrel, it's worth it.) And yes, I have a Kel-tec .380!

The Walther has good points and bad ones.

The good ones are reliablity, sturdeness, and simplicity.

The bad ones include a DA trigger pull that is very hard and cannot be fixed (the angle of the sear to the trigger pivot just cannot be made less sharp, and thus the hard DA pull. Twiking springs will just cause misfires.) The Walther also sometimes bites the hands that feed them because the slide is so low on the frame.

Far ahead of the mini-berettas.

I've had a few M-21's, never had one break the accuracy ran from fair to great.

Never thought of torture testing one though might be an interesting idea.
