Beautiful day here and I took the pooch for a nice long hike. On a trail I saw a cartridge I am not familiar with. It was new, obviously dropped during Deer Season. .32 Super Winchester at the base .An old Deer load? Rimmed, I thought it was a .30/30 but the neck was too long.

That must be it. Lever gun? I admit I've never seen anyone Hunting with this cartridge.

Well if it is a .32 Winchester Special, you don't see anyone using it a lot. The cartridge was designed back about 1902 and sold well for about 50 years. We still see them for sale up here on occasion in Winchester M94's mostly

I haven't seen one in a long time, but they used to be fairly common 30-40 years ago, at least in Kentucky among my dad's relatives.

I know ammunition is still manufactured for this caliber, but I think that in the future it would be a good candidate for reloading with cast lead bullets. A lot cheaper certainly.
