bullet wt by more than 50%, you 'think" it's not feasible to get 50% more velocity? :) Or put it this way, increase the bullet wt by 128%, you don't think you'd have to reduce the velocity by 1/3rd? 70 grs at 2400 fps is quite feasible for the 460 to attain, in a Commander. It's 800 ft lbs, and it is more effective than a 70 gr 223 sp at 2300 fps, because it has 4x the frontal area and it has the 3 separate wound channels, 3 overlapping temporary cavities, doing 3x the tissue damage, etc.

Any with some experience know that the 70 gr Speer sp, typically is loaded to 2600-2800 fps, depending upon the barrel length, but it is still pure HELL on big dogs at 100m or so, where it is down to 2300 fps.

I don't need 50% more velocity to make up for poor marksmanship skills, I practice regularly. According to my shooting book, so far this year I've been on the range 35 times. How many times have you been out shooting gunkid, since 01 Jan, this year?

Dumbkid will find out the rifling in handguns are set up for specific bullet weights and velocitys, otherwise they will not stabalize. And Garand is right, the THP (Texas Highway Patrol) use the .357 Sig, as is, and they say it works ever time. Why waste time with pos hack jobs pushed by a washed out hack.
