better in one direction than the other. Barely detecable is a slight sheen-coating. that needs to be on the outside. I' dont get condensation on the inside mylar bag. but lots of it on the outside mylar. Ok, i get it, that's where it's cold and condensationis more likely, but how did the moisture get THRU the inside mylar bag? gotta try it with the PEVA outside, of just one mylar, tben try it with the PEVA and 2 of the mylar, and no absorbent bag. It might be that the double layer of mylar- plastic is all that's needed.

It didn't. I can't quite visualize your setup, but do know that moisture won't wick through mylar. Think of mylar as basically like a thin, flexible tin can. You might rip it or puncture it, but if there are no rips or punctures, it's air- and water-tight.

it's probably from your breath. I'm assuming you're still in your van. But that's a guess, since this is a new post in what should be a single thread - so it is impossible to know for sure. Had you managed to actually keep everything in a single thread like a normal person would have done, we'd be able to follow better what you're doing.

Pictures would be priceless in this situation. You or your wife must own a cell phone with a camera.

Melvin likes opening up multiple threads on the same topic, something about the thread count being important to him.

I don't know why he don't look for something like a surplus MSS set up. Heavy but can be had for cheap and they are pretty durable.
Im putting together a used set up to leave in my truck for emergency use in the winter.

Because he has no intention of putting this trash together, let alone using it. It's all keyboard to Melvin. That's all it ever was.

Hell with Winter, think Spring!
True actually the full MES stsrem can be used for year round if used right throw in a poncho liner or a poy-fleece blanket and it's good year round.

On like some I actually have experience in real backpacking.over long distances, plus base camping out of vehicles. Not minivans in the HUD Apartment parking lot .
What I'm working in right now is a set up for a VBOB and a on foot get home bag.

Toiol box will carry enough basic gear to last 1 month on the road vehicle camping eating light it 2 weeks eating heavy. Not counting on Diners Drive-ins or Dives .
The idea is if I decide to go somewhere for a bit I'm nearly packed. Gear is either for fun or SHTF basics .
Just add in clothes and guns and ammo as needed.
Or fi

Remember starting be out a foot is piss poor planning.
