Come next Wednesday will probably the last time on the range for the year and I already have my gear packed for it. I'll probably go through about 250 rds of .357 Mag & .38 Spl that day. I was wondering what everyone has already put down range already this year.

My wife and I have probably shot approx. 7,000 .38 Spl and at least a 1,000 rds of 12 gauge at matches we have attended together. On top of that I've probably shot the following;

approx. 2,000 .45 ACP
approx. 400 .45 Long Colt
approx. 2,000 .44 Mag
approx. 200 .357
approx. 50 6.5x55mm (will pickup next year, just had a new 6.5x55 delivered 2 days ago)
approx. 500 .30-06
approx. 50 .45-70
approx. 500-700 .22LR
approx. 400 .38-55 (sold rifle afterwards)

After the holidays (bah humbug) Going to start casting then uncover the Stars an load, stocked up on powder an primers awhile back.
Just picked up two more 38spls, both unfired, mint in unopened boxes, a Model 12 4in nickle an a Model 14. Both were new old stock. Did not even let my neighbor (Fordperfect) see the guns but he did drool a bit at the boxes. 12 dates from 1957, have not looked the 14 up yet.

I haven't kept score, but not nearly as much as you guy's. No excuse other than I seem to be doing a lot of other outdoorsy things when the weather 's nice. When I walk the whole fifty yards to the range I tend to burn through a few hundred rounds and then go do something else. A lot of 9MM and a LOT more .45 since I got the CZ97. Probably not more than 1,000 rounds of .223 and even less 7.62X39 MM. I needed to order 9X18 MM last Summer since I did shoot a lot of that up. I definitely shot a major amount of .22LR due to a new lever action and the .22 kit's for the Glock 21 and the CZ Kadet Kit. Now that I think of it, maybe I shot more than I thought.

I can't see a lot of change for 2018, except with going to the indoor range each week until the end of March I'm likely to add about 3,000 rds of .38 Spl. BBM, I'm just plain impressed with that 10,000 .38 Spl!

Son helped with some of them. Plus they are so easy to load an accurate. An have tons of brass an lots of 38 Smiths.
Another thing, the Star press makes it fun.

I’d have to check my spreadsheet on my work pc, but I’ve been down substantially this year. Been down the last several years, frankly.

Next few years will probably be mostly .22lr in semiautos, a fair amount of reloaded/cast-bullet revolver stuff, and a smaller amount of semiauto centerfire. Still building the house, but the goal is to have it paid off in six years from now or so, which means tight budgets on non-essential stuff.

Checked my spreadsheet and found it was certainly 'down' as I figured. Total being a little over 8400, with around 40% of that being rimfire, ~15% .223/556, ~20% 9mm, and the rest being mostly scattered between 22TCM, 300BK, and 7.62x39. A smattering of 45acp and 45LC, but only a couple hundred of each.

I consider myself very lucky, since I retired in Feb 2015 I have been able to ramp up my game significantly. Particularly in cast lead load development for long range which is an exercise in perseverance and patience. Plus I have been able to attend more matches both in Canada and the US.

I can relate to that, but now everything I want me to do, is generated by me!

Guestimating:

+ 9x19: 4-5,000
+ .45 ACP: right around 400, I haven't even gone into a new case over a whole year but awful close.
+ 5.56x45: 7-8,000 + 800 F/A in mag dumps on one day as part of an R&D.
+ 5.45x39: 3,000 + 1,200 F/A in mag dumps on one day as part of an R&D so it's hard to call that 1,200 really shooting.
+ 7.62x39: A little under 3,000, I still have some of a case on a shelf.
+ 7.62x51: Exactly 200.
+ .22 LR: I have the same 50 pack I started the year with, but it has 7 left.

I didn't shoot any magnums this year, and shot most of what is considered long range with 5.56 against varmints with great success at 600-800 yards.

Weird year for me, haven't really shot all that much compared to other years.

We have a deal, I build all her ammunition, I clean her guns, she takes care of all the costumes and does toilets!

She once asked me how many guns that I owned. At that time before I started downsizing I had 45, I asked he how many pair of shoes she had. She said that she stopped counting at 200 pair. She has never asked again. PS picking up my 4th Win M97 tomorrow.

My Spouse is both a blessing and a curse. When I was weighing a Ruger MKII Target against a Browning Buckmark, She said in front of the gun store owner "Oh, buy both, why not?" Another time I was dickering with a seller at a gun show over a Webley .38 S&W when again she piped up "That's a good price, go ahead and buy it."
