from St Louis to E. Ohio, Rick Miller was there. We spent the weekend. At one point, we put up 4" balloons at 10 yds. We put a time limit on it and used the old Krondek sweep- hand timer that I bought from Bob. this was on Hack's indoor range, using Colt .22 units on 1911.s Hack and Rick were using speed rigs. we said 1.5 seconds, from surrender hand start. shoot until you miss. Hack and Rick each missed, at 1.60+ seconds. I hit 3 straight, at sub 1.40 seconds, using a little ccw crossdraw rig that bob made for me, worn openly, tho. I heard Hack mutter to Rick "That boy IS deadly, aint he? " :)

Practicing down by the E St louis Levee, Ron Bright, Arganbright and I were doing 1.5 seconds, react draw and shoot at a 50 yd IPSC silohuette. I hit 4 out of 5, Colt .22 unit and a speed rig. So much for me not being ABLE to handle stuff beyond 10 ft. The point is, can YOU react, draw from under a t shirt and hit at 10 ft in sub 1.0 second? cause that's what's required, or you're kidding yourself about what your gun can do for you. A member of this forum got that sort of speed in one winter of practice, behind the hip with a tail out flannel shirt, using wax .45 ammo in his basement. Given an airsoft pistol, you can do the same, much more easily. So why don't you, other than just being lazy?

40 years ago? I bet I could dig up my shooting achievements from the late '80's and early '90's when I shot Competitive Service Rifle and Service Sniper, but that was 20-25 years ago and most people only care what you are achieving now, rather when you were a has bin.

I can still do it. and slowfire bullseye is meanless. superspeed from concealment, will always have meaning. except to you punks who can't get a ccw permit in your commie country.

Why do I need a CCW in my country? Mind you, it is my understanding that if I wanted a CCW permit in the US, my Canadian permit make me eligible for a New Hampshire permit which I can use while I'm down here.

Where I live and travel I have never felt that I needed a CCW, mind you that doesn't mean that when I travel, I don't have a firearm with me! How about you, wannabe?

I think I have figured out who nikto is. I'm not going to name him, but if I am right it is somebody I knew well 20 yrs ago or so. We used to practice together and shoot ipsc matches back in the 80's. I hate to tell you, but I have seen him do most of the stuff he talks about. He had the fastest concealed draw I have ever seen, and I'm pretty fast myself. I would never take him up on any of his dares. Also, he does know all the gun people he claims to know, including Cooper. I havn't seen him for years but I would bet he has kept in practice.

I don't doubt that he had the ability 30, 35, 40 years ago. I have been shooting competitively since 1986. In that time styles of shooting have changed, equipment has changed, the age of the competitors has changed. In competition these days, I do not preform at age 60, the same as I did when I was 25 or 30. Life slows us down, it is a fact of life. Marksmanship is a perishable skill, use it or loose it. We all can tell stories from our glory days back when. How about today? I shot a 6 stage match and I crashed an burned 2 stages. 1 because of a light primer strike with a shotgun and on the other a double feed on my shotgun. It was a learning experience. Anyone who thinks they can perform the same way as they did 35/40 years ago is only fooling themselves.

It sure shouldn't be hard to figure out. Look in the mirror.

Dorobuta's right about these old threads popping up. This one is priceless. ANOTHER example of JMD talking about JMD. This time JMD claiming JMD 'used to know' JMD; but hasn't seen JMD for years.
