Thanks Brass Hammer it's a generous offer but I'm not in the .MIL family.

I have spent and will be spending a lot more time in the big sandbox though.

I work for a .gov contractor and my job is to be there for 30-60 days at a crack, then come back to reconstitute, repair, and resupply equipment and materials that we use.

I LOVE calling up an ammuntion manufacturer and telling them I need 500,000rds of 7.62 155gr AMAX at XXXX velocity and XXXXX pressure and refering them to a prior document that will tell them the other propriatry information they will need to meet the specs.

I work with alot of .MILs and you can bet that there is alot of "gear" we pack up into the shipping containers that they can't seem to embark with.

Anyone need an RPG? We have piles of them. Please submit the proper importation paperwork though, just because it's easy for us to get things out of the CONUS doesn't mean we get free reign bringing things back.

Copy That ,smoker!

my buddy said in G.W 1 they were trying to bring back..ur ... forgot about a bunch of under fold akm's in the commo netting, IT DID NOT FLY.

this time he was so far in the middle of no where[main fuel depot, for everybody!] the most excitment was building berms and finding ord. from the last one.

he said just send the bottle, next time! ha! they didn't care what came in !
but they DAMN sure stayed on top of what was coming out.

maybe you could share some info on that 155gr. .308, or post a link?

thanks.

Everything we take out of the CONUS that we want to bring back gets documented. If we didn't document that we had it when we left it's pretty tough to get it back in unless; it's something that's clearly allowed or it's something that will be owned by the company for research purposes.

About all I can tell you about the 155gr AMAX load we use is that it's 1950fps from our 18" chromelined M1A barrels. We spec'd that velocity from that length and we get it. It runs at a pressure under our upper limit which is over SAAMI spec but within acceptable limits for the guns we use. It's loaded for us by a large manufacturer and like all ammnution companies they use non-canister grade powders to achieve velocity X at pressure Y.

The 155AMAX hits like a lightning bolt.
