there was a jeep to haul around such a clunker and its ammo.He knew the real score. Even in the fiercest fighting ever seen,a guy CARRIES the rifle a LOT more often than he fires it. The 11"CAR 223(using softpoints) has twice the stopping power of the .30 Carbine and ball ammo (which is what Audie and many, many thousands of experienced vets DID favor). With a scope, trigger job and match ammo, the 11" 223 has TWICE the effective range of the .30 Carbine, too.

You won't be against the finest Army the world has ever seen, if shtf, either. 241 kills, in 2 years, every medal for valor the US had to offer, the complete respect of every man that ever served with him, fighting against dug in, battle-hardened Caucasian men, not ignorant sheep herders or rice growers. The .30 Carbine sufficed for that, a gun and load that's 4x as good will suffice for no more than you are going to accomplish,if shtf. The suppressor on the CAR and the .22 unit are ideally-suited to staying undected, and for realistic practice until such a gun is needed. The can makes the 223 every bit as tame as is the "noisy" version of the .22 unit.

Those "Rice Growers" would eat you and your stupid equipment alive. You wouldn't have lasted a day in the "Bush".

Pretty desperate when you have to mention Audie's name in the same paragraph with your cobbled up POS CAR. The darn thing can't even stand on its own merits with GI ammo - it has to have its special diet of handloads to make it effective against ground squirrels. I wish you had gone to Viet Nam, you might have learned something.

It's called the fallacy of "appeal to authority" using the name of a famous person to bolster a weak argument.

Well thats your opinion, nothing else! Its not fact and its not the choice of people who have far more experience in the bush that you do. WANNABE

Audie walked far more than rode. If gunkid would read Audie's book he would know that.

Gunkid, you remind me more and more of Kerry (sans $ of course.) A total loser.
