So, what would it take to get that frivolous sporting/non-sporting test taken off the books? There are assault rifle events, such as at Knob Creek, so certainly that can be considered as "sport".
A repeal of the 1968 Gun Control Act. That is where the 'sporting' terminology was given legal life.
Of couse, you repeal THAT and you repeal the need for FFL's, 4473 yellow slips, and many other things - you'll be able to buy guns through the mail interstate then, few if any questions asked.
GK would also be able to buy guns again.
It's stunning to look at how much our rights were confiscated and/or restricted by the 1968 GCA.
