Heck, I've always wondered the same thing about the .308. I always seem to hear about people taking 1000 yard matches using the .308 rather than the 30-06, but there may be other reasons behind it other than just the choice of cartridge. It's one of these "inherently more accurate" cartridge arguments again.

Yeah, I've been seeing a lot of hype about these new short and squatty cartridges coming out. But I look at the .223 WSSM and wonder how much of an improvement it is over the .22-250, or is it faster then the .220 Swift.
Or are cartridges going to go the same route as the automobile industry? I new model released every year? The same thing, just a different look about it. Of course, you will have to buy a new gun to shoot the latest cartridge......
