a small one. Set out an 8", mottled brown-gray disk, and in all conditions of wind, mirage, weather, from standing, hitting it at more than 120 m is a real feat. Ditto at more than 180m, from sitting, no rest,or at 300m, prone, no rest for the rifle, with typical hunting ammo and a typical deer rifle. Yes, some very good riflemen, using sandbags and in prone, with a really superb bolt action and scope and loads, can maybe stretch that to 400m,but that's about it. They are really, really risking a poor hit on the animal. As Cooper says:" You should not brag about long shots on game. You should apologize for being too impatient and inept to get closer".
