Well, I do remember seeing body armor being sold at Sam's Club several years ago here in north Florida. I also seem to remember a law being proposed and maybe passed that wearing body armor during the commission of a felony is a crime.

But don't quote me on that law.

Yeah, the problem with most laws of this nature is that most criminals are assuming they won't get caught. Once you are caught for breaking one law, what difference do the rest of them make?

You hit the nail on the head Rich. I believe that the only way we can have a real affect on crime is to make the punishment bad/horriable enought that it will make most think twice/three times about their actions.

I do not agree completely with capital punishment, I think that banishment to a remote place/island with minimum survival gear would be more cost effective. One or two satellits with 24/7 real time monitoring should do the trick. I'm thinking of one of the Aleutian Is., survival rate should be under 25% and that should be published world wide.

Then we would not have to worry about body armor or wepons to combat it.

I know that, and the french tryed it too.

In this situtation there would be no guards/supervision, no supply deliveries, no housing or buildings other then what they can construct, if they can't pack it on their backs they can't take it with them if they can't survive, mother nature will deal with them.

It's a good idea but in this day and age they'd probably make a reality show out of it.

I agree that it would be rather silly to expect a felon who is obviously expecting to get shot at to even consider wearing armor to be illegal. BUT.........any additional law being broken may add time to the sentence and make it worth while.

If they'd make it a crime to be a criminal then we'd really be on the right road! bleep
