haven't watched the video - yet.

I would think the doctrine of competing harms would come into play. The right to protect your life should trump all other (legal) concerns, as long as you didn't create the problem in the first place.

What Dorobuta said, plus the concept of 'constructive possession', as mentioned in the video. I looked into this a little bit years ago as I have more than one family member / relative in this position.

Well, I agree with the idea of it yes. It's their home/residence.
I watched the video and noticed exclusion of the BATFE's ability to step in and prosecute if they so choose.
