as a belt gun. Why settle for 500 ft lbs in a belt gun, when you can have 800 ft lbs, same size and wt and accuracy and controlability? 500 ft lb loads fail to stop men fairly frequently. 800 ft lb loads do not (assuming both rds are properly loaded). That "extra" 300 ft lbs results in a blow that's pretty damned overwhelming, and the sort of guy who's THAT serious about his ccw pistol is going to lay another chest hit on the guy, .20 second or less behind the first one, and have a .50 second brain hit ready to back it up, too. All the 1600 ft lb double tap has to do is stagger the guy for .50 second, really, before a .460 Split Nose takes his head off.
