Actually, I have given this a little thought. Suppressed weapons have certain advantages in certain situations. They can be useful.

I won't be relying on one for shtf.

But, as you have said, people have survived without them, my planning and skills are not dependant on having to have any particular set of tools. If I am stuck with a weapon other than my chosen primary one, then I will adjust. Any gun, when used properly is a valuable tool.

Now, as far as GK goes, his reasoning, given his situation isn't that bad. He realizes he has an issue with flinching. (he has admitted this in the past on other boards. I don't bring this up to put him down, actually in this case, just the opposite.)

Because he is at least smart enbough to understand this is a problem, he has come up with a solution.

We can argue whether or not its the best solution. We can argue over whether or not it is a smart long term strategy. Those are separate issues.

The point is, he has actually done something we all have accused him of not doing. He actually has chosen some gear for a legitimate reason. He has picked gear that will enhance his ability to survive.

That's the right thing to do.

He blows it by trying to ram it down everyone's throat, and by trying to make it out that everyone flinches.

We can also argue that what he claims he's going to do with it is stupid, but again, we're now talking tactics.

We can rightly, point out that the weapon he's putting the can on with it's too short a barrel is not a good choice, but that's still somewhat subjective.

It's all a part of what works for one may not work for someone else. If GK would only realize this and not be so hostile to other ideas, things would be much better.

Ps, GK you're still not going to get a Christmas Card this year either.

Just to be clear, I was only commenting on him making the suppressor part of his kit.

the type of suppressor, the quality of his gear, tatics described, etc. are all separate issues, each worthy of scrutiny on their own.

I just realized that he is at least smart enough to try and overcome a limitation.

I pretty much agree with all the other comments made in this thread so far...

But you're the only one who has claimed they are going to initiate ambushes (looking for trouble), kill sentries (looking for trouble), come to the sound of gunfire (looking for trouble)

We've never claimed anything of the kind.

You, mr gunkid, are the one who has the thousands of posts claiming such.

show us where we said we would be looking for trouble?

Also show us one post where we claim we will be standing around in the open like you often claim.

You need to go back and read your posts and then comment on who is fos because they will be looking for trouble.

Maybe you should check with Andy on this.
