that MADE the hit. When studying the effectiveness of the LOAD, dumbasses, the GUN that fired the shot is IRRELEVANT. The ISSUE is determined by the amount of shock and damage done by the bullet, not by what gun fired the shot. Sheesh, what a bunch of lames. It makes NO difference whether a bullet comes out of a rifle barrel or a pistol barrel, if the impact speed and bullet wt are the SAME. If the pistol bullet has 2-4x the frontal area of the rifle bullet, that AINT a point in favor of the RIFLE bullet's being the better manstopper, either. :)

When I talk about pistol stopping power, it aint ABOUT the effective range of the rifle, it's about the EFFECT on the target, not the gun that fired it,not about how the rifle has 3 times or 10x the effective range. I never said one WORD about the range, I was talking about what the hit does to the TARGET. **** WHAT GUN FIRED THE BULLET.

Proficient marksmanship nulifys the requirement for "wonder bullets". As we all know marksmanship is a perishable skill, those without the skill need a gimmick.

No Garand, those without skill are usually out of luck. Fancy trick bullets that MAY or MAYNOT work are a crutch for lames like gunkid. Several State Highway Patrol organizations use loads like .357 Sig and they report virtually 100 percent one shot stops. They sure don't need these bs loads. And unlike gunkid, they have the guns and they shoot anytime they want.

I do prefer the ease of reloading straight walled cases, so I'll stick with my honkin big .45 or .357! I'll get more practice in that way.
