I'll take a pocket auto, with real POWER, that malfunctions 1 time in 10 shots, over a FEEBLE pocket pistol, that is 100% reliable. First off, the "bluff" of showing the attacker the gun works 90% of the time. At least 50% of the remaining 10%, you'd BETTER settle his hash with the FIRST shot. So the fact that the pistol MIGHT malfunction in the next 3-4 shots is pretty meaningless. You can hit the guy in the chest with 3-4 380's, and have LESS effect than ONE 356 TSW Split Nose load, given the same chest hit. "reliability" is for those who "think" that they will have enough time to MISS a lot (or hit the attacker in a feeble manner) Sorry, that's NOT how it works. :) Typically, you have at MOST 1 second in which to do SOMETHING decisive, or LUCK is what determines the outcome (of pocket pistol type encounters) they occur at 10 ft or less, and a man can be all OVER you in 1 second flat, from 10 ft away, and a standing start.

Okay, so we only need to shoot 10 percent of the time. Since the first hit from a .380 or 9mm FMJ works about half of the time, we're going to be fine 90% + half of 10% = 95% of the time. If we use a JHP 9mm, .357 SIG, .357 Mag, .40 S&W or heaven forbid, a .38 Spl, then probably we're okay for 96% to 99% of the time.

How is a 1-shot-in-10 jammamatic better?

it's better cause it will stop a man 90+%

of the time with the ONE shot that you are likely to GET, given typical scenarios. MOst of the time, you CAN'T reveal the gun, before the guy is inside 6 ft, because he HASN'T shown any hostility to justify your doing so. You draw that gun inappropriately, your ccw permit is probably GONE, dude. Let such a thing happen twice, and the permit is lost, for SURE. The authorities will KNOW that you are just an inept chicken[bleep], pulling out your gun every time some bum asks you for money.

Your bogus statistics apply just as "well" to a .22, so why bother to spend the 5-10x more money for centerfire ammo, eh? Of course, you guys practice so little, we aint talking about much money, but a guy who really gets after it, 10,000 rds a year or so, it makes $1000 difference. Since you are too cheap to buy more gun than a Makarov, I know very well that you don't shoot enough to be any good.
