I have an oppurtunity to pick up one of these. It's the 8(?)in camo model.Used of course.I'm pretty:D familiar with Smiths & Rugers. How do these compare?

I've got a few of them in .45 Colt. Altogether nice guns, which I would compare favorably with S&Ws. I think it's going to be much like asking people what they like best, Chevys or Fords, though. Everyone will have good an bad experiences with one or the other.

I think the value of the Colts will be slightly higher than the S&Ws, from what I have seen, so if you can get it at a good price, I doubt you will go wrong with it. Check Gunbroker to see what the going prices are on the model you are looking at.
Don't quote me on this, but wasn't the Anaconda supposed to be a bigger version of the Python? If it is, then it should be quite accurate. Even if its internals were based on the Trooper MkV of the early 1980's, that's good, too. Every DA/SA Colt that I've ever fired has been very accurate, even the little ones.
The price is right.I should have it this weekend.
Thanks,jeff
Gbullet - yes, that is correct. Maybe if I get a chance I'll take some comparison pics.

The Anaconda is an oversized version of the Python. On the other side of the coin, the Diamondback is a smaller version.
Colt DA's have always had severe problems

with going out of time in a lot less rds or drysnaps than either the Smith or the Ruger.

I used to manage a high-traffic gunshop, with three gunsmiths. And I never heard the above complaint about Colts, going out of time.

I owned my own gunshop, and never saw, or heard this complaint about Colt firearms.

PLENTY of PPC shooters know it's true.

Hey TARD:
Get one thing through your diseased mind -- everybody knows you're not a PPC shooter, or a IPSC shooter, nor a IDPA shooter either.

What you are is a mouth shooter, and a mouth shooter only. You are an OLD MAN POSER, not the pistolero you think you are, in your diseased mind.

Of course, saying this is redundant, because everybody here knows knows that to be a fact.

It must suck to be such a loser. How can you stand looking in the mirror, at yourself?

I"m a man whose REALLY close friend

just a few weeks ago turned in 85 and 83 second times on the IDPA qualifier match, from concealment, using a 9mm lw Commander. You try it, punk. He did that with less than 3000 rds of practice a year, with .22 unit, and less than 1000 rds of 9mm practice. He's just flat GOOD, always was, and always will be, too. :)

TARD:
That was him, as you described it, not you.

TARD, ask Jeff Cooper who I am. Ask Ray Chapman who I am. They all know me well. Ask them about the guy that worked at Kings Gun Works. Ask them about the armed robber that came in one day! Go ahead, ask them.

I shot with them in the early sixties, in the old Southwest Pistol League.

If you were ever at a Big Bear Leather Slap, you've seen me TARD.

You're a poser TARD, just a poser. And in your heart, you know it too.

Tell me something TARD, is the above your common garden variety death threat? Or is it your Sunday special?

The only way you could do that is to come up from the back TARD, and you're not good enough to do that.

However, I have followed you down the street, in that small town in south central Colorado.

What a MAROON you are TARD.

Enough of the chest thumping, please. If a threat was made in this thread, the poster needs to be aware that such statements can result in involvement with the federal authorities. Anyone filing a claim of a death threat received from another person via the internet WILL have it investigated. And no, you are NOT as anonymous as you would hope you are.

I will FULLY cooperate in all ways with anyone initiating such a claim. Which means such postings will have to remain here in place as evidence if such actions are initiated by the recipient of such threats.

I strongly advise everyone to calmly read the words they have just typed, BEFORE pressing that SUBMIT REPLY button.
And on an un-related:rolleyes: note. The shop with the Anaconda also had,un-fortunately:eek: ,a P& R model 29 & a SS 44 redhawk. The Colt Realtree will have to wait just a little longer.
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay kool revolver though.
