combat stress will of course degrade them even worse. The man who truly CAN deliver, HALF of his practice level of abiilty, while being shot at, is the stuff of legends, like Audy Murphy or Alvin York. York hit all of his pistol kills at 15m or less, and all, or nearly all of his rifle kills were at 30m and less. He picked up OTHER men's guns, ya know. He had no IDEA where the sights were regulated, in reference to HIS eyes, grip, etc.

Adrenalin dump CHANGES your grip tension, your strength, your speed, and it kills the fine neuromuscular feedback loop necessary for good point shooting, beyond 10ft with the pistol, or 10m with the rifle. That's to hit the 10"circle of the chest. With the shock and destruction of the 223 sp, one need NOT hit the chest, (very often, at least) in order to have his hits have a very good effect. So the rifle may be point shot to maybe 15yd, with good effect.
