couldn't get 60 gr .45's over 1800 fps,

(melted lead out of 185 gr jhp's,replaced it with epoxy)in 4" barrel, no matter how much Bullseye was stuffed into the case. Just not enough friction to keep the bullet in the bore long enough to build up some real velocity. With the huge hollowbase of the Split Nose, however, and sizing the 70 gr bullet to .453", and using the longer case of the .460, 2300 fps can be achieved in 4" barrels. Size the hollowbased, 90 gr swc to 451". It has a much deeper,but not as large a hollowbase, and achieves 2100 fps in the 4" 460. It's a very capable bullet, for use on big animals.
