.... a survivalist's wonderland like Durango, Colorado, and still not own a backpack or do any backpacking, let alone any hikes/walks lasting more than 1/2 day and probably within sight of the safety of the car?

Anyone who dares to even think about calling themselves a 'survivalist' and perpetually talking about 'backpack survival' should at least have thoroughly tried out his wild theories to see what would work.

After all, it should be easy when all you have to do is step out your back door. Never heard of any parole restrictions against physical fitness and backpacking.

Also, out in the boonies, it would be real easy for someone who was a prohibited person but was a serious outlaw to do some real training with real weapons while on, say, a one week survival hike.

A real outlaw, who was also a real survivalist, might even take the opportunity to illicitly harvest a deer and try out his vaunted, 60 second, improvised stone axe field skinning and butchering techniques.

Gunkid, you can provide a detailed kit list of what you have packed and ready to go AT THIS MINUTE, if you don't have a camera.

You're wasting your breath Mike, NUTTY JOHN, is too cowardly to even try that near his home town of Pagosa springs, CO, which is a hunters or backpackers mecca.

NUTTY JOHN is just a couch potato survivalist, and a key board commando. All front and no substance!
