God, that's funny. Ever have to run from an ambush and try figure out which way to an LZ or towards your unit? No, I'll wait for the sun to come out, while the NVA shoot holes in me. Don't bother to click open a lensatic compass and at least get a general idea where to head. Where do you get this stuff from? I understand compass and map work is abstract, and many people cannot get it, but don't come across like there is no need for it. How do you think Lewis and Clark crossed the continent? Road signs? Yes, your stick in the ground will tell you where the valleys are, where the water holes are, where the roads are, and where the cities are.


But when you're are trying to E&E, you ain't going to put your stick in the ground to guess a direction to travel. Of course, without a map, what's the point anyway?

Plus, sticking to heavy cover, traveling only at night, kinda negates the whole stick in the gound thing, doesn't it?
