If there's no such thing as shock, WHY is an 8 pellet 000 Buck blast more likely to INSTANTLY shut down a man than are 8 rds of 9mm? The latter can be "poured into" a man in 2 seconds or less, yet there are many cases where lots and lots of 9mm hits to the chest did not suffice.

MELVIN, there are nine pellets in 12 guage 00 buckshot, and they are .38 (.357) caliber. Triple aught buckshot pellets are smaller then 00, sooo they must be smaller than 9MM (.355), RIGHT MELVIN?

00 Buck is .33" & 54 grains, 000 Buck is .36" & 70 grains (Unless you use Hornady's, which is .35" & 64 grains).

Any documented cases?

Because at buckshot ranges, the man is being hit with 560 grains of lead, travelling around 1500 FPS, nearly 2800 ft lb, almost as one piece. The hole torn is HUGE. 8 shots of 9mm won't produce a hole like that, but I'm pretty sure it will shut anybody down pretty quick.
