and controlabilty, that is, 5" long, 11 oz M21 Beretta, or PM9 Kahr 9mm (loaded properly, with CorBon's 100 gr PowRball or their 90 gr plus P jhp). There's ZERO reason to carry a larger, heavier gun, and have what amounts to ZERO more stopping power than a .22, and pay 10x as much for the ammo. The .22 can be a fun plinker-trail gun for small game (once you install decent sights and get rid of the trigger's overtravel) and good for teaching. the .32's, 380's, .38's and Maks are nothing of the kind. they lack power, in any but REALLY MEAN loads in the .38 snub, and the latter both lacks controlability and it also bulges rather badly in a front pants pocket.

the Kahr has 400 ft lbs, CAN have 600 ft lbs,if rechambered to 356 TSW andloaded properly. So only a fool settles for having the 200 ft lbs of a mak, 380, 38 snub, etc, in a gunthat's heavier and bulkier than is the Kahr PM. If you are going to just kid yourself, bluff, etc, the shirt pocket carryable M21 Beretta .22lr will do that, a LOT easier and cheaper than will any 380,etc. and it also offers some nice sporting options, that the lack of accuracy, high cost of ammo of 380, etc, can't match. You can "think" 380 or mak offer a meaningful increase in power over the .22, but animal tests prove you wrong.
