Empty .22 and primer boxes....

Man, I have these things all over my workroom. They just look like they have to be good for SOMETHING, so I keep them around hoping I will think of something to use them for. So far, no luck.

Has anyone thought of a use for them? It seems like a crime against nature to throw them away.

Definitely the pack rat in me showing itself tonight....

Are you talking about the mini mag .22 boxes. The little plastic ones that have holes for the rounds?

If so...do what we do: shoot 'em. Free target!
I was out the other day with my son Brendan shooting. He was about to throw out a Maxi Mag box when I though of a use for it. You see we have been building a turtle/tortoise poen for the back yard. I have lots of wood screws left over, what I am thinking of doing is keeping loose screws in the boxes after removing the small partition that holds the rounds in place. I may try drilling a hole or two into the top and seeing if after screwing the top onto the bottom of a shelf, the box will slide on and off of it easily. If so, that would be a pretty darned good screw holder (or other small gadget holder like gun parts). You could line up a number of them under each shelf. Even if that does not work, those boxes would still be good screw and small part holders and they would stack pretty neatly too.
excellent idea
