I just got my placing from a Fencing Tournament last Sunday, I placed 6th out of 25, in Open Foil. I'm thinking I should've signed up for Open Sabre instead, I would've licked 'em all real good. :dgrin:
fencing always struck me as an incredibly demanding discipline.I always had an interest in the study of the sword(both eastern&western)butwas usually otherwise occupied.
Are you strictly into European fencing/swordsmanship,or have you branched off into other areas?
Sabre isn't European, it's Middle Eastern. Where the Sabre is called a scimitar, it wasn't called a Sabre until it spread to Western Europe, and it's most often used by light and medium cavalry units.
