"long term". 90+% of those who "think" they are survivalists wont last out the first year. So much for "needing" black powder, bow, or slingshot. :) Making noise, having easily detected "home bases", staying there, OBVIOUSLY having stuff worth taking, etc, makes you a big, FAT target, EXACTLY what the gangs of bikers, ex-military guys, etc, will be looking-for.

You've been reading too many cheap novels John. :)

Bows, slingshots, etc, are all interest sidelines. Everyone I know is armed to the teeth with serious firearms. BP weapons just give you an extra legal hunting season in normal times.

As for 'making noise', you have no woodman's skills so you shouldn't talk in that aspect. You need to spend more time out in the boonies, you really do. Your thinking is very narrow and limited.

It all won't be over as fast as you think. It NEVER happens that way.

I've seen less imaginative fiction that was just as firmly rooted in a non-realistic setting selling quite well.

If William W. Johnstone can create an entire political movement out of some amateurishly written pulp, then JD out to make a dollar or two.
