Got my bear

Very good. I've never taken a bear.

This was my first, and it was a n interesting experience. I think I would definitely do it again. Using a bow made it a little more challenging.

Weight? Just curious as some of ours here in Arkansas we're originally reintroduced from Canadian bears.

Wasn’t real big, 170 lbs. but had really nice fur. This time of year they start rubbing off their winter coats,so if you want to do a mount, you need to be a little picky

it was a sow, and they tend to be smaller than the boars.

the whole shoot / don‘t shoot dilemma was funny. I was going to pass, but the fur was so nice, it was making me crazy. Finally I said if I’m this conflicted, I need to take it, so I did.

Nice bear, but I think I'd pass with the crossbow in favor of something in the 175 grain class.
