They sold the 22in model that I wanted so had to drive all over town checking the stores. Finally found another but the little boy-clerk didn't want to sell it to me because, he said, "it would knock me on my butt". He wanted to sell me a 22! After a heated discussion, I walked out with my rifle.
But the store didn't have any scope mount bases. I drove around even more looking for the bases but no luck. :headbang: May have to order them from Brownells unless I can scrounge something around here.
Anyway its mine now along with one box of ammo (reloading stuff has been ordered and may come in Friday or Monday). Its an absolutely gorgeous rifle and I'll test fire it over the weekend.
I saw in the Brownells catalog that Wild West Guns has a replacement trigger that removes the trigger flop and creep and drops the pull weight to 3 1/2 lbs. Has anybody used this trigger. I understand that a lot of Cowboy Action shooters like it. I'll see how the factory one shoots but may keep it in mind as an option.
Thanks to all for your help and comments and encouragement. Can't wait until deer season.
