Guns and Alcohol...

don't mix. That was one of the first cardinal rules of firearms handling that I learned back in summer camp.

Now let me interject with this: I have worked the last 16 days straight up through yesterday. I took off today to answer a vehicle summons at my local village court, but as my luck would have it, I screwed up and I am actually scheduled to be at court tomorrow. I guess working all those days, and most 12 hours from 8P to 8A, screwed up my ability to even remember what day I was in at the moment let alone my ability to schedule effectively. Of course at the court they said tough noogies - come back tomorrow.

Now let me say this: Gun Forums and Alcohol  do go fairly well together so long as you remember the rule about guns and alcohol not mixing well. I had a glass of red wine just a bit ago, but that was all that was left in the bottle. Now I am really enjoying the lone bottle of German Weis Bier that my wife brought me back from her, and the kids, summer vacation in Germany. They were there for 4 weeks and I get one bottle of beer. Brendan, my son, was very nice indeed and brought back an extremely nice stein with pewter top, and of course, I am drinking my beer out of that. Did I mention the wife and kids also went to Greece for 2 weeks. Yes there is a small bottle of Ouzo in the kitchen calling my name - but I am hesitant to drink that alone.

What can you expect after 14 days without any booze to drink! So no monitoring for the rest of the night from me, I am taking the night off to post, to read, and to enjoy a libation or three. Yeeeeeeee haaaa!

Please be nice to one another, so I don't loose my moderator job. Thanks.

Alcohol and guns DON"T mix? And all this time I thought deer hunting was just like fishing (ie. sit in a deer stand with a six pack, as opposed to sit in a boat with a six pack).
Do you fall out of many trees like that?
i knew a kentuckyn who fell out of his tree stand drunk and broke his back,

needless to say, he dos'nt walk anymore!

save the boozin' for the camp fire/skinin'

thanks.

[yeah! GLEN, a bottle of ouzo is best shared, it makes you want to talk/good mood]

Never did drink, or use dope, or even drink coffee or smoke. Never saw any point in it. I can enjoy life just fine, shooting, dryfiring, or working on the draw, reload, etc. No need to screw up my head at all.
I don't smoke, drink, or swear.

Oh, S#1T; I do smoke and drink. :nyah:

Was it Drew Carey who said, "'Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms'... sounds like a party."

But you thought it was alright to sell drugs, though?

i feel A GLASS of wine and [1] german beer is not in bad form after a [2] week haul, it's not like a person has to 'key the ignition' of their

KEY BOARD.

i know i'm guilty, of alot of faults[including having a drink or two while in active pursuit of quarry, with like minded hunters, these guys wern't/aren't
clod nimrods]

just my opinon!

THANKS, FOR THE MEANS TO EXPRESS IT.

I like it. As it turned out I stopped at one wine and one beer. The Ouzo can wait until I have reinforcements!

You probably have more experience with that sort of garbage individual, but have you ever met a dealer that didn't use some of his own crap? I haven't.

That's usually how a dealer get's started. He can't afford his habit, so he turns to dealing to get "his ride free". Our man in question, on another forum, protested that it was "none of the Goverment's business, what he put in his body." That sure sounds clean and sober to me.
Well my weekend is here, its been a long one. It seems everything I touched this week, blew up! :) :) :) The temperature has taken a real sudden drop and I've had 3 flat tires in 2 weeks due to fragmentation. I'm going to sit back tonight have a couple of shots of Southern Comfort while I watch the idiot box.
Interestingly enough I don't drink or use illegal drugs(medically contraindicated). The interesting part is that although I don't believe in the notion of"better living thru chemistry",I DO oppose the WOD on a couple of general principles. The cruel Darwininan in me says that someone STUPID enough to ingest a particularly destructive substance like heroin ,or cocaine(powder or rock),or to stip caring about whose works went into whose arm is taking themselves out of the genepool thereby improving it.Unfortunately they either breed earl;y and often,or harm others in a variety of ways. The other phiolsphical basis is one ofa"slippery slope" to erasing the Bill ofRights.
I think that the only way to "end "the WOD would be to ,without warning or debate;suddenly annopunce an executive order repealing EVERY prohibition of any substance(excepting minor's involvement)-simultaneous with the TOTAL de funding and disengagement of all affiliated tax funded services, support agencies, rehab etc. Essentially you can do what you want to YOURSELF,but when you hit bottom its up to YOU to decide whether or not you wish to continue as you are,or to cahnge for the better.go back to prosecuting the crime, not the motive.Muder is murder, whether or not its drug related;no mitigation or aggravation in of itself.
sorry to wander a bit :eek:fftopic: but I'm a bit pummeled from the overtime and My drug of choice(Espresso di Roma cut with a douyble dark Mexican coffee) just wore off. Oh well, time to get another fix.
