she carried a couple of throwing knives and when she could not find a girl friend to spend the night with, she'd sleep on lawnchairs, beside pools at motels. When asked by people if it was not dangerous for a young girl to live thus, she replied" If you act like you are one of the ones that they should be afraid of, they leave you alone".
