Am sending my .300 Win off to GA Precision as per your recommendation. They'll determine whether it is a candidate for a buildup, and if so, what it'll take. Goals are to address some inherent problems, such as comb height, and to harden and accurize it as a field gun. This'll be one of the two rifles I'll take to SMTC when I go...

... and although I do not know excactly when, I am definitely going.

Anyway, thanks for the tip.

Regards,
Jon

The gentleman with whom I spoke was named Chris. Seemed very knowledgeable of course, but he also took extra time to discuss options with me. Very good initial feeling re: customer service. Always a good thing.

Oh, and Mike, I posted a query re: Nikon's tacticals over on the Rifles board. Would love to get any information you might be able to impart.

Regards,
Jon

Broke down and bought a scope for my soon-to-be-Gardnered .300 Win this weekend at the Raleigh show - Zeiss Diavari VM/V 6.5-24x56T*, mil dots, speed dials. Never had a metric scope before, so I ponied up for a metric ballisticard to get me on paper.

Next stage completed - Badger 20-degree base and max rings on the way. Will put everything together properly and see what accuracy I can wring out with the rifle as is.
