:laugh01: :laugh01:

IS that a great pic or what!?

There's a cutie for sure Garand.
You are a lucky man indeed Garand.
My favorite firearm keeps on changing over the years. I guess if I judged it on one of the most used pieces that I own it would either be my Ruger 10/22, my Ruger MKII, or my Remington 870. I also really like my Beretta 70S. That may be the closet favorite of all of my guns.

Yet there is another favorite. Of course I guess my real favorite is whatever gun my son decides is his favorite at any time we are shooting, because that is when I feel the best about anything to do with firearms.
That's a walnut chest on chest. Like I posted in another thread, I am a teacher. Bet you can't guess what subject? :)
Must be the flash wash on the side panels giving the blonde appearance, looks almost like aged cherry.

Would I look foolish in hazarding a guess at wood craft.

Home Ec? :dgrin:
Garand,

When will she hit shooter age? Bet you cannot wait to get her out with a .22!

All the best,
Glenn B
Yeah, the flash didn't do the picture justice. Home Economics? Ouch. Woods, welding, computer drafting, and informational technology.
Obsidian knives are pretty, too, but like the sixgun,

they are quite obsolete. No more power than you can safely get out of a Smith DA revolver, a lw Commander can surpass, so why lug around the extra lb of pointless extra wt, not be able to properly conceal or control it, hmm? Why limit yourself to 6 shots when you can have 9, with better control and concealment, and more power?

Wrong again.

An obsidian blade is the sharpest in existence, with a cutting edge of one molecule. The American Medical Association has reported that that is five hundred times sharper than the best steel scalpel. Obsidian scalpels are being used in surgery today. The thin edge cuts tissue cells which are torn by the best of scalpels made of steel.

In fact, today, eye surgeons prefer to use obsidian blades for eye surgery.
My grandaughter has her 2nd bithday in December, so I figure I'll have to wait at least 5 more years till my daughter will let me take her shooting. Eriks/gunkid, while a revolver might be obsolete, a person with one in his hand has at least 6 opportunities to end your life. When used within their limitations, no firearm is obsolete. I have a friend, an older gentleman who is in his early '70's. His idea of retirement is 50 rds a day out of his 2nd gen Colt SAA in .44-40. He does this anywhere between 170-190 days a year, depending on weather condition. Now thats retirement :) :) Marksmanship is a PERISHABLE SKILL! If he ever had to use his handgun, within that firearms limitations, if the balloon ever went up, the bad guy is in trouble.
The whole idea of split time and revolvers being obsolete and all does you absolutely no good if you're the one (or one of the ones) that gets drilled before your "posse" takes the guy down (if they do).

My favorite pistol is my Colt SAA .45. Why? Because my wife bought it for me when she couldn't afford it. My favorite rifle would be my Colt AR-15. Not my M-16, but the memories are still there. SHotgun would definitely be my Browning "Sweet Sixteen", fed me supper yesterday. (See Hunting)

Hey terry, how bout a pic of the A-5, the Sweet 16 is aptly named. Tho not a Sweet 16, my 16 is an FN commercial. Those revolvers look mighty nice to, the one on the bottom looks familiar but just can't place it.
btw me thinks I see a cz52 in there also, what are those like? I'm looking to get something for my Lady, is there something that the 7.62 is comparable to? Tried grandads 1911 and a round butt on the DW 15-2 and recoil is a serious problem.
I'll have to look for a picture my "Sweet Sixteen" I 'm pretty sure I have one somewhere. The revolver on the bottom is a .38 S&W Webley, original "War Finish". I can't believe the British adopted that cartridge, it's Not a .38 Special. It was designed to shoot 200 grain FMJ rounds. It shoots 148 grain factory very low. The CZ52 is another strange gun. It's not 7.62MM. It was an import I bought out of Shotgun News with a 9X19MM barrel and was advertised as a "civilian" model. The slide is blued, not parkerized, and the barrel is stainless steel. I can't speak to the 7.62MM version. This one is as accurate as can be, but only reliable with FMJ rounds. HP's hang up in it. I don't know what your lady's shooting experience is, but I would have second thought's about a CZ52. RIKA likes her's. But she's very experienced. It's a big, heavy gun. I have large hands and it's still BIG! It's also a little tricky to operate, being a single action with a hammer drop device built into the thumb safety. If you drop the hammer with your finger on the trigger it will go off. I read about this and tried it, it's true. They are very inexpensive, and worth worth the money, but not something I would pick for a lady. You could spend about $50.00 more and get a 9X18MM Makarov. Ammunition is cheaper, it's a double action pistol, and would fit a smaller hand better.

Thanks Terry, the grip size issue was a big one on the 52's as her hands are small and CT syndrome in that right wrist is the reason I negated the 1911 choice. She used to shoot a Berreta 92 with no problem, maybe I'll look into one of the Taurus copies.

btw: will try to get a good pic of my FN if this cheapy camera will only work.

You won't go wrong with a Taurus. The PT92's and 99's are the exact same size as the Berreta 92, still pretty large for a small handed person.
THey ain't that cheap anymore. But they never were cheap, just inexpensive. I carried a PT 92 as a duty weapon for a couple of years. The 24/7 Taurus has a smaller grip. Smaller capacity and double action only, but has gotten very good reports.
