To post pics you can use the attach file button...When you start a new thread you can find this section by looking at the bottom of the screen right above the submit button...It allows you to post a photo from your compter to this server....

Cool deal

Thanks Gregg. It worked! Now, hopefully, I'll be able to get an objective idea of te value and ID of these snakes.

Thanks,
Dennis

I followed the above and still can not attach a pic. I use the same feature on ebay to attach pics with no problem but for some reason, here and on fauna I can not. Any ideas? Maybe a security setting in my browser I can't find?

What exactly happens when you make the attempt? Are you using the correct format picture? What size (file size and pixels) is the photo you are trying to upload?

RichZ, I am having trouble uploading an img. 201K but error reports img >800x600. Properties does not list pixel size. How do I resize it or detremine it's size? Btw, hosting photos w/o dues to a picture gallery is a great feature! Would like to use it more, if poss...

OK, I bumped up the max on the images. If it becomes abused with a lot of frivolous images being posted, I will ratched it down as necessary. Each image uploaded gets stored on my server, so I have to have all of that stuff added to the total when I do a backup file every night.

Right now this is basically the only real application running on this particular server, and it has two 73 gig SCSI hard drives on it. Plus it has a dual Xeon processor, so it's a LONG way from getting overloaded.

I suggest you find a good photo program for playing around with your images. Paint Shop Pro is a very good program and not at all expensive.

Let me know if you have any further problems.

Dennis - Earlier I saw an ad you had posted in the For Sale section with photos of the Glock. What did you do differently that time?

I just went ahead and hosted them myself on my residential web space. I was just curious why I am having such a problem uploading here and not on Ebay or Gunbroker. Not a real big deal, I can still host them myself. By the way, I deleted the add cause the gun sold 20 minutes after putting it on Gunbroker..:D

I've been uploading pics on all three of my vBulletin based message boards without any problems. And I can't recall anyone else having a problem when they stayed within the set limits. I'm just curious about the problem you are having and if it is something I can fix.

You could experiment down in the testing area for a bit to see what you come up with. But this system should upload graphic images files from your local computer with ease.

Well, it just worked in the test forum. I think I know what I was doing wrong. It still did not show up in the preview, so I fgured it was failing, but I went ahead and posted anyways and it showed up. I should have realised that to save space it wouldn't upload it for preview. That would be a waste of HD space. Don't know why it took me so long to figure that out..:D lol
