and rifles are for either life-death foraging, or for war, really. If it's just for sport, why can't you just use your ccw pistol, hmm? When it's for sport, you don't have to score very often, and you really SHOULD see how your defensive ammo does on flesh and blood, and you should find out what it's like to kill up close, and what sort of performance you can expect from yourself, and a ccw gun, in the way of range and accuracy under field conditions.

Plinking with a rifle is pretty boring, unless it's some sort of high speed combat training. The pistol offers far more in the way of both fun and relevant practice. You can even shoot 2 at a time, doubling your fun. :)

Bowhunters get inside 25m of elk every

year. At that range, why CAN'T you drive a hard, .45 swc thru his lungs, hmm? As big a target as the lungs of an elk or moose are, you should be able to do so at 50 yds, especially from a braced firing position. They get within 20 FT of deer every year, with tree stands. That ought to let you brain one with a Makarov, even. :)
