compared to the 60 grs at 2600+ that can easily be attained with a 10" 223, that's WAY short of being anything LIKE matching performance. Contrary to what some IGNORANT people here would have you believe. 450 vs 900 ft lbs. In othere words, the Hornet is only HALF as powerful as the 223 when you compare the same barrel lengths. When you have the 11" 223, and the typical 20" barreled Hornet, the shorty 223 is "only" 50% more powerful, as vs 100% more powerful, when the same barrel lengths are compated.
Hornet is 50 grs, 2000 fps, 10" barrel.
