HOT weather, too. Lw Commander is plenty concealable under a shirt, IWB. I usually carried without a rig. If your thumb safety disengages too easily, FIX it. All that's necessary is to make 1/8" longer safety plunger. Masonry nails are a bit harder than common nails. Spin one in a power drill, locked in a vise, and hold Dremel or file onto it, to shape it to be such a plunger. TAkes about 5 minutes, and your safety will take a DEFINITE effort to disengage.

While "tail out' shirt carry ccw's the 1911 ok, behind the hip, bending over with it creates problems-risks. I prefer the T shirt out, navel carry, or the button up shirt, tail IN carry, with the gun at the navel, but it requires that the front of the slide have HEAVILY rounded corners (for comfort when sitting down) and properly developed abs and pecs, or concealment is a problem.

For you to carry a handgun for so long, have you had these feelings of paranoia for long?

I'm a thin, wiry(149-150)5'8";believe it or not,I used to carry concealed a GP100(4 inch tube, but on occasion a 6 incher) in a plain vanilla Uncle Mikes shoulder rig(vertical)It was low in price, but (for me at least ) suprisingly secure. My style of dress did vary;pendleton vest,un tucked shirt(think shade tree mechanic). As long as the retention straps were affixed I could(and did) run and jump on occasion without having the rig move around(within reason). I never thought about the chest and abdomiunal developement or its efect on carrying....I worked with a "Tony DePalma(Taxi) lookalike when I used to do process service&a few other "odd jobs'.he was a stocky, balding naturalized American from Sicily.HIS ccw was simply a PP.380 ,on a strong side in-the pants rig tucked inside his right hip;he actually used hispasta&grappa belly to help out with the concealment(his Dunlap done lapped over the piece). You could describe him as a moderately out of shape wrestler or power lifter type;not what you'd think of as far as 'pec&ab developed"...smart,tough guy though.Funny as hell to work with :D

223 Fan,

It really is also another thing to shoot off your testicles or part of your penis as you draw or reseat your firearm when you conceal it in such a ridiculously dangerous manner. Could you imagine doing that and then being sent to jail to boot, it would make your life in jail a whole new experience. Keep carrying that way please!
Sincerely,
Glenn B

In AZ, CCW's are easy to get and you can carry openly, loaded and ready to rock, with no permit at all. To carry openly, general rule of thumb is that the grip must be showing and the trigger covered by the holster.

Used to be in California that first offense for concealed handgun was a misdemeanor, far less of a penalty than for having an unloaded but unregistered AR-15 in a locked case stored in your house. California's gun laws seem to often change from day to day, so it may be different now.
