Neighbors in the country tend to know each other, especially in times of crisis.

Real hard to outrun a CB radio. It's that old electromagnetic speed of light thing.

While you are running from one bunch, you may be running striaght into the crosshairs of another bunch.

Old cop adage from some old country song: "...you can outrun my Chevrolet, but you can't outrun my old two-way..."

Don't have to see or even physically trail someone. Just let Dale on the next ridge know that you "saw the guy last, heading south thru Simpson's ridge toward flat rock" or whatever. Dale will know where someone in that location is likely to come out, along with all the deer paths, stands, and hog wallows in the area.

Maybe it's from living the past 11 years in Arkansas (after Michigan, Georgia, and Texas), but these hicks KNOW their mountains.
