1972, thru the regular mail. :) Getting a few hundred sp's, and a Lee Handloader overseas, as an infantryman is no great feat. You can pull the ball ammo's bullet with your SOG multitool (ratcheting pliers) clean up the shape of the case neck with the sizer die, seat the softpoint bullets in the place of the ball bullets and load every other rd in the mag with real ammo. use mags full of ball for the spray and pray bs, and you will be fine.

So it's basicallly NEVER necessary for anybody to count on ball ammo. Of course, they have to HAVE some balls, and a bit of intelligence. ***deleted derogatory***

Certainly leaves out those who are 150 miles from anything like a front line who spend their time sleeping on duty and beating up their dogs.

Yet another useless post from the Baron Munchausen of combat survival. I'm sure that Military Command would have made you a birthday boy if they had caught you with a magazine full of non-regulation ammo.

Especially when counting rounds and checking ammo.

I don't get it. There are guys in the sandbox right now who are using soft point ammunition because they broughtn their own with them, and or because they have friends, family and supporters send it to them over there. Why would you bother with primers, and hand loading tools when you can get the real thing shipped whole.
