Yeah, I need to spend more time practicing. I have one of those Hammerli Trailsides and it is an excellent shooter. But I'm getting older and I find my muscle control isn't as good as it used to be. It's a bit unnerving to see the front sight refuse to stay on target while you believe you are holding as steady as you possibly can.

Maybe practice will help. Or else I need to go find that fountain of youth that Ponce de Leon was looking for over in St. Augustine...

I favor a little Smith 2214.

have you considered using a thong around your neck, to the pistol? Coupled with a long stick, to your hands and your chest, things steady down just fine.

I'll have to check with the wife to see if she has any thong underwear. Do ya think she would mind me borrowing them for this? :roflmao1:

Just kidding.....

Yeah, I guess I need some geriatric aids for shooting now. Sigh...

Seriously Rich, one of the reasons handguns had a lanyard loop & lanyard:D was to retain the weapon. The other was to act as a 3rd hand. With the right lenght rope(& you'll have to expierement with this a little)you have a handy little sling.

I'd just as soon sling a 4 lb Papoose,

scoped, as scope a pistol, if ever my vision deteriorates too badly. The idea is to score, and be humane in taking the game. Using a handgun is just showing off, really. It is the use of a SIDEARM to do what most men need a rifle to accomplish. If you can't do it with a real SIDEARM, then just ADMIT that and carry a rifle. Simple enough.
