I have hiked up in the Sierras when I was younger and carried a .22 Browning autoloader pistol, and a slingshot as gamegetters along with some monofilament and a small assortment of hooks. I was usually better at the fishing, than the hunting, but I used .375 lead ball in the slingshot and what I hit stayed where I hit it. Using rocks is a waste of time as they all fly a little different, but can be done if stalking closer. :scatter:
