making each move a theoretical response to a surprise attack. When we were to free spar, we were to go from the bow, to an INSTANT guard-position(and onto the fighting)at the command to "fight". Not to stupidly, slowly assume a fighting stance, but as a CONDITIONED REFLEX to a perceived emergency. That simple diff in training has made ALL the difference for me in real life.

When I first came home from Korea, I couldnt even play basketball. All the fast moves (in my peripheral vision) kept screwing up my game, cause I'd keep (at least PARTIALLY) dropping into guard-position, raising hands, etc. :)

Stillwater tells us that you were in condition white when he cane to visit you. So much for training. Now tell us about the position you assumed in the men's shower room.

Actually, I understand that condition white would have been a step up in his awareness of his surroundings.

One of the ways you can tell, is whenever offered a chance to spar, he turns it into a death match, praying that you will not still take him up on it.

He lacks the control and discipline to actually spar, or he lacks the knowledge (or perhaps all of these are the reason), otherwise he wouldn't be such a drama queen about it.

You know, I've met more than a few of these guys that overreact to every little thing and then claim it's their hair-trigger reflexes, just one of those things they've "trained for", trying to impress people. Problem is, not one of them were worth a damn in a fight. They had to overreact in order to try and bluster or get the jump on someone so they'd either not have to fight or would have the initial surprise in their favor. If they didn't have this, they couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag.

It's just more BS and bluster from WimpKid.

If I remember correctly from the old reruns, Barney Fife had that kind of hair trigger reflexes. Maybe Melvin should keep his one bullet in his shirt pocket also.
