IIRC it's illegal to hunt most, if not all of the dangerous game over there with less than a .375. And the "criminal justice" system of most of Africa makes ours look fair and lenient.

You have to be pretty dumb to to get arrested (at least in South Africa). The cops there don't even attempt to help you, and the punishments are Euro leniant.

If you get caught by a private citizen, well, then you're F***ed. Game Wardens are even worse, something about poachers killing their friends, family, coworkers, and attempts to kill them, tend to make the African Game Wardens rather bitter.
