since it's only got 500ft lbs. The fact is, tho, that a 125 gr 357 , full charge 1500 fps jhp to the chest does stop men 18-19 times out of 20. There are many hundreds of cases that document that fact. An 11" 223 has that SAME 500+ ft lbs left at 200 yds,if you load it right, and with a good sp, it will cause every bit as much shock and tissue damage at 200 yds as a 4" 357 causes at 10 ft. Animal tests prove that conclusively. Those who scorn the shorty 223 are just stupid, that's all.

The .357 is a handgun. People who know their guns scorn the shorty CAR as an open country weapon for good reason.

You're going by pure numbers, those paper numbers are just a few of the factors involved and they never quite work out in the real world anyway.

I've never met anyone yet that has gotten good accuracy out of a 11.5" CAR the way an AR should shoot.

Even the Israeli IDF and security forces, which use the 14.5" CAR-15 as their standard issue weapon, only use the 11.5" for close quarters combat in the role of a submachinegun.

You're trying to be clever with gadgetry, but your setup is operating at a marginal level of performance from what you could have.
