right before he went awol, while on charges of having gone awol before, which made it desertion. Delta company, 1-2, at Ft Leanard wood, october of 1971. Can't remember his name. we referred to each other (quite loudly) as the "only other set of balls in the company". Some of the guys will remember. There was over 100 of us in that company. If he told me why he was leaving, I don't recall what it was. but that will be a matter of record, too, his going awol. Perhaps he could be located. Believe me, I can win any bet you DARE make about it, so let's DO it, punk.

I DO have amazing recall of some pretty obscure things, from 44 years ago. it meant a lot to me, I guess, or the chanting of the company ID made it stick, or all the letters I wrote with that return addy. :)
