I forget the powder charge, and I dont think i'd trust anybody's 35 year old memories about such things, either. :) I don't see any value in such loads, actually. You're just going to get overpenetration. If I was trying to take Moose with a .45 ACP, i'd do so with a fully supported barrel, .45 Super brass, lots of Bullseye and a holllowbased, 80 gr solid copper swc, at something like 2200 fps in the gov't model. No more recoil than .45 ball ammo, 870 ft lbs. You'll get the penetration required to pierce both lungs and might even get an exit wound and blood trail.. I recommend that you first shoot some wild hogs or deer with it, frontal to chest and see how much penetration you get, then try an elk. That load exited a big hereford, tho. :) There's you tube vid about a guy staggering an elk with a 10mm, then dropping it with the repeat shot. Razor Dobbs is the guy's online name
